Below are my personal reflections and contributions following my journey with the First Cloud AI Journey (FCAJ) program. I hope this feedback will help the FCAJ team continue to refine and improve the program for future generations of interns.
1. Work Environment
The work environment here provides a perfect balance between the professionalism of a major corporation and the openness of a tech community. I was particularly impressed by the “ready-to-help” culture: from senior members to fellow interns, everyone was eager to share knowledge regarding system architecture or cloud service optimization. The continuous learning spirit of those around me was the greatest motivation helping me overcome high-pressure phases of the project.
Small Suggestion: To increase connectivity, I believe the program could improve the office seating coordination process, making it easier for teams to gather for direct exchange rather than relying too heavily on online meetings.
2. Support from Mentors and Admin Team
I feel fortunate to have received guidance from highly experienced Mentors and a dedicated Admin team. The Mentors not only assisted in resolving technical bottlenecks but also placed great emphasis on thought methodology. Instead of providing ready-made answers, they always directed me toward Official Documentation, helping me hone my self-research skills and gain a deeper understanding of the core issues. Timely and close feedback from the management team helped me complete important milestones on schedule.
3. Alignment Between Work and Academic Major
The internship project content served as a vital “link” connecting university theory with industry reality. Transitioning from a local programming mindset to building large-scale systems (Serverless) with strict standards for security and high availability significantly expanded my technical perspective. These hands-on experiences provided insights that academic curricula often find difficult to fully convey.
4. Opportunities for Learning & Skill Development
Besides enhancing professional competence in programming and cloud infrastructure, the program provided opportunities to practice soft skills such as time management, cross-functional teamwork, and presentation skills. Participating in community events was also a fantastic opportunity to access the latest technology trends like Generative AI or GenAIOps, providing a comprehensive view and a clear career orientation.
5. Culture & Team Spirit
The program’s culture is deeply rooted in the spirit of bonding and mutual support. During peak periods, the “no one left behind” spirit was clearly demonstrated through members debugging together, sharing solutions, and encouraging each other to overcome challenges. The enthusiasm and energy of the collective made me feel like a true part of a community rather than just an individual intern.
Thank you to the program team and the Mentors for creating such a valuable internship experience!
